tippmann_98_saw_buttstock_b_cu            There are many modifications that are available for all marker models in paintball.  Many of these modifications will improve the performance of your gun, while some are simply for cosmetic purposes.  There are some pieces that play the role of both and one of these in particular are buttstocks.  There are many reasons why players equip their markers with buttstocks.  The primary reason is functional; these parts can help bring more balance to the weight of the gun, not to mention significantly increasing accuracy by offering a place to stabilize against your shoulder or cheek while shooting.  Although this enhances the gun’s accuracy, it also adds a bit more weight to the gun, which is why most speedballers do not use buttstocks.  Buttstocks are best used on tactical paintball rifles in scenario games.  Don’t forget about looks though!  Buttstocks come in all sorts of different shapes and sizes and can add a fierce tactical look to any paintball marker, whether it’s a Tippmann A5 or Spyder Pilot; adding to the physical image of your gun is always a blast.

Nowadays, there are actually some stocks that are designed to fit an internal Co2 tank inside them.  These tactical buttstocks are commonly recognized as the “Flex-Air” system.  These ingenious gun stocks were first made available from RAP4 for their signature T68 series tactical paintball gun.  This company has made a huge name for itself in the paintball industry by creating much new, innovative tactical gear and modifications for scenario paintball guns.  Fortunately, as time went on, RAP4 began producing Flexi-Air buttstock systems to fit most other paintball markers.  Now there are Flexi-Air (tank in the buttstock) systems available for all the Tippmann guns (except the US Army Series), Spyder, BT, Tiberius Arms and MilSig.

squad_blaster_gl_packCrush your opponents with 20 paintballs at once with the next generation paintball grenade launcher!  If you enjoyed the Phantom Grenade Launcher, you’ve gotta lay your hands on the new Squad Blaster Paintball Grenade Launcher Pistol.  The second generation Grenade Launcher Pistol offers more than just a versatile mount-on system; it’s capable of use with many different paintball markers and as its name suggests, it can also be used as a stand-alone grenade launcher pistol.  It has a heavy duty launcher with a frame made entirely out of aircraft aluminum.  The Paintball Grenade Launcher Pistol can be mounted on all standard railing systems and is compatible with all thunder grenade shells.  The new system features a side ejection mechanism allowing for quick reloads.  This is a powerful weapon, especially when you find yourself in an intense battle, under fire surrounded by multiple enemies in close quarters…. nail them all at once with a grenade!  When your ability to stay in the game depends on how fast you can return fire, this grenade launcher mounted to your marker will make a world of difference!  The launcher will take paintball grenades that hold .68 or .43 caliber paintballs and will of course need to be powered up by the AG1 grenade charger.

halo_belt_drive_hopper_500.jpgWhen I’m on the field, I want max performance out of my paintball marker.  Part of this though depends on what type of hopper you’re using.  If you’ve got a super fast Planet Eclipse Ego 09 paintball marker, it would be ridiculous to load your paintballs with a simple gravity fed 200 round hopper.  That would be like putting average, low-end tires on a race car; you would find out soon enough the cheap tires are holding you back.  So with my paintball gun, I prefer the Halo B electronic hopper.  This is a great, fast and super reliable hopper.  I have had no problems at all with it so far.  It feeds the balls into my gun as fast as I can pull the trigger. All you have to do is put 6 AA batteries into it, hit the on button and you’re ready to go.  It’s very easy to open and reload and it never pops open on it’s own.  I’ve used it throughout many rounds and competitions and have never had one problem.  This hopper is also by far one of the most durable loaders I have ever used; I will use it for a very long time.  If you’re looking for a quick, reliable hopper, try the Halo B electronic hopper; you can order one for a great low price at choicepaintballguns.com!

rt-02.jpg A lot of paintball players like to upgrade their guns to automatic triggers so that they can become almost unstoppable on the field.  Electronic triggers allow your paintball gun to be fully automatic allowing it’s users to put out an extremely consistent stream of paintballs. But I like to think that it only takes 1 shot to get a player out.  My dad used to play on a semi-pro team, and he always told me to choose accuracy over volume on the paintball field.  While players spray at you with their automatics, all you have to do is find good cover and wait for that one perfect shot to eliminate them.  You don’t need a good automatic paintball gun to be a good player.  Sometimes fully auto guns sure help a lot, but remember one main thing about paintball - ”Its not about how good the marker is, its about how good the player is”.

podholder.jpgThere are many benefits of wearing a tactical vest during paintball.  First of all, it is a great way of carrying a large amount of ammo.  This is important when playing in a large scenario game; in most of the ones I’ve played in, I had to carry most of my paintballs with me when I went out on a mission.  Besides, the more you can carry, they less time you have to spend re-fueling.  Another benefit is comfortability.  Paintball harnesses only wrap around your waist and puts the weight of the pack on your hips; but you need your hips free so you can run.  This is why I would much rather be wearing a tactical paintball vest as opposed to a paintball harnessTactical vests put the weight evenly around your torso and shoulders making running much easier and more comfortable.  I also feel that wearing a paintball vest makes me more mobile, and prepared because they have other pouches so you can carry many other useful paintball supplies.  At www.choicepaintballguns.com you can buy tactical vests that have map pouches, name tags, paintball gun magazine pockets, CO2 tank pouches and even paintball pistol holsters.  They also have tons of different colors to choose from and great prices!

Pump Some Adrenaline into Paintball!

While paintball is a great sport to enjoy all the time, if you play the same game all the time, it can also grow stale in the same environment with the same people.  In order to inject a little bit of adrenaline into your game, consider adding some different paintball bunkers to your field or perhaps take your game to a different area.  Bunkers provide cover, and can be used to change the tactical layout of an area.  Inflatable bunkers are much simpler to clean than other surfaces, and can be put to good use even in open fields and areas with little to no cover.  Paintballing becomes much more enjoyable when players can use their surroundings to their advantage, and bunkers make the perfect addition.  Bunkers can also be used to build entire custom paintball courses, and because they are available in several different shapes and sizes, there are all kinds of different structures and shapes that can be created.  You can even get inflatable bunkers that are replicas (in shape and size) of military vehicles, missile trucks, tanks and even full sized aircraft - all used to hide behind on the paintball field!  Whether the course looks like a castle wall or ramshackle battlefield, it’s sure to be a whole lot of fun!  Inject some adrenaline into a paintball game with bunkers and barriers.

Super Realistic Military Paintball Action!
At first you might think, “why would anyone want a 5oz. CO2 cylinder - it’s too small to do anything with?”.  Actually, the 5oz. CO2 Cylinder from RAP4 has a very specific purpose…. it fits perfectly inside the buttstock to be used with the patented flexi-air system that now comes standard on all T68 paintball markers, the most realistic military replica paintball gun.  The 5oz. cylinder boasts 200+ shots for .68 caliber markers and a whopping 500+ shots for .43 caliber paintball guns.  Comparatively, MilSig paintball guns also have a similar air system that allows you to carry your air inside the buttstock of their K-Series Markers.  However their biggest air tank is a 90g (or 88g disposable) CO2 tank and this is much smaller, giving you much less shots.  They also carry a carbine buttstock that houses a 13 cu.in. HPA tank (or a 3.5oz. CO2 cylinder) however this is also significantly smaller than the 5oz. CO2 Cylinder.  You can also get a great deal on the 5oz. CO2 Cylinder when you purchase it along with the carbine buttstock (5oz. Cylinder + Buttstock package).  The great news is this combination (5oz. Cylinder + buttstock) will fit the T68 and the MilSig K Series markers.  For the most realistic paintball games, you want to change magazines only - not air.  This system has enough air capacity for 20+ magazines (with the T68 and MilSig markers).  You can rig a 90 degree remote line adaptor to connect a remote line to the marker while still having the air tank inside the stock, giving you an instant-backup option should your internal tank run out at a critical moment.  To do this, you will need a 90 Degree One Way Valve.  You can buy this product at a great price at www.choicepaintballguns.com along with the T68 5oz. CO2 Cylinder + Buttstock package.

mich_style_military_training_helmet_s.jpgThe paintball mask I like to use is the JT full head grey and black mask.  I feel the full head mask is the best way to go.  Of course I like the protection it provides but I like it for other reasons as well….  1. With the full head mask, you never have to worry about the mask falling down your face,  2.  you have much better visibility in your peripherals,  3. a full head mask goes down further in the front of your face providing protection to a bit of the neck as well.  I also think it looks much better in general; it’s more intitmidating looking.  The full head mask also provides protection to the top of your head, the back of you head and your ears.  The next mask I get will be the Hawkeye mask with tactical helmet now that we are getting more into scenario paintball competitions.  This mask is definitely one to look for on the market; but you can get great deals on them at www.choicepaintballguns.com.  When you’re upgrading your paintball supplies, you should have a check list to go through.  First buy a better/upgrade your paintball gun, second buy a good mask, third get a better barrel, fourth change to hpa and fifth upgrade the gun to the look that you want… but the second step is buy a good mask.  I highly recommend the jt full head mask or the Hawkeye mask with tactical helmet for full head coverage.
