Tactical and Competition Paintball Information

ag1_clear_training_paintball_group.jpgIt’s probably not a good idea to store your leftover paintballs from your last outing in the trunk of your car.  The best way to think of it is to compare paint to a person.  If you think an environment would make you uncomfortable, then it’s more than likely not good for paint either.  Excessive heat or cold will ruin paintballs within hours, while paint that’s properly stored in a cool, dry place like your room (assuming you can clear a space in there!) will last for months and months if properly rotated.  By rotating, we mean literally moving the bags of paintballs around to keep the fill from settling to one side and to prevent dimples from forming.  While the dimples on a golf ball help it fly better, on a paintball it just doesn’t work.  Other reasons your paintballs may not be shooting well are goop in your barrel and/or breech of your paintball marker.  Once again cleanliness is next to godliness, so make sure your marker and paintball gun barrel are clear of paint and clean your paintball marker often and thoroughly.

Overall, spend the money to buy good paint. We like the Karnage brand … http://www.choicepaintballguns.com/product/020270 over any other because they have different grades and they stand behind their product - they won’t even ship them out if the paint’s going to be travelling through a snow storm.

Store your paintballs in a dry, even temperature place with no moisture. We like the AG1’s from RAP4.. http://www.choicepaintballguns.com/product/020270 ; as soon as we get them, we dump them into a big plastic storage container and I keep them in my room. I also run my hand through them every other day to make sure they’re not sticking together.

The cyclone enchanced feed system of the Tippmann X7 http://www.choicepaintballguns.com/product/TIPX7BASIC is a great super fast loading system that is perfect for fast shooting… BUT you’d better have good paintballs! If you’re paintballs are lame, they will bust in the hopper and the cyclone will also bust a lot of them. You’ll spend more time cleaning your gun than shooting.

If you’re storing paintballs (left over from the game or practice), it’s a very good idea to shake up your balls frequently or moisture gets in between them and causes them to stick together. This will cause them to warp a bit and sort of ruin their quality. We seem to have this problem less with Karnage brand… http://www.choicepaintballguns.com/product/KRNPREM

We like Karnage brand paintballs to play and practice with.. http://www.choicepaintballguns.com/product/KRNPREM . They have various grades of paint, recreational (less expensive but still good) and up to a premium grade for competition (these are some of the best paintballs I’ve ever used!). Try this brand; it’s a mainstay for our team.

The pistol mount laser and LED flashlight with quick release is a great looking product… http://www.choicepaintballguns.com/product/ATPFLS Does anyone know if this will fit onto a real pistol as well? I may get one for my paintball pistol and my Ruger 9mm both!

Don’t worry about what happens when you store your paintballs…. use the re-usable rubber balls for a real stinger! Seriously, these things hurt like hell and WILL leave a mark! They hurt worse than regular paintballs because they don’t bust and the impact is not absorbed/disipated into the target. Check them out… http://www.choicepaintballguns.com/product/RAPBALLS

It’s true… storage of your paintballs is a big problem (or can be) and can make or break your game if you’re not careful. Don’t let them get stale and stuck together! The best idea is to not let them sit idle for too long. Go out and shoot them as frequently as possible - so you get better from all the practice and then you don’t even have to worry about storing them. I like using AG1 from RAP4 … http://www.choicepaintballguns.com/product/020270

In my opinion, paintball was one of the best outdoor games ever created; except now you can play in indoor in some places to! To enjoy playing your best, you need the best equipment; I prefer to shop at http://www.choicepaintballguns.com. They’ve got an amazing selection - especially if you’re into tactical paintball, but they’ve also got some great deals on speedball guns and gear too.
