Tactical and Competition Paintball Information

l_b2bf063f80e940c9b9634df887afe98c.jpgDo not make the mistake in thinking that practice as a team is unimportant, it is the single most important factor that will influence how the team fares overall.  But there are other considerations that must be addressed for preparing for a tournament.  How you approach practice is almost as diverse as the styles of play that individual players can use.  Some paintball teams practice on a weekly basis while others may only meet on a monthly basis.  Some paintball teams only scrimmage, others play walk on games, others may participate in extensive drills and maneuvers while some do a little of everything.  Who has the right to say what the best method of practice is, it is more of an individual factor that will effect each team differently.  One thing that I would suggest is that paintball teams should mix the drills with the scrimmages, and when scrimmaging attempt to scrimmage with other tournament level paintball teams.  Drills should not be overlooked and will provide you with the opportunity to put individual performance under the microscope to suggest and implement the necessary changes, while scrimmaging with other teams will afford you the opportunity to put these changes into effect.  Take your practices seriously and if you want to be any good, do so several times/week.  Stretch and warm-up thoroughly before you train/practice.  Some paintball teams even do callisthenics, strength training and speed drills as well as practicing tactical manuevers and tournament strategies.

Check out the blog on http://www.choicepaintballguns.com…. http://www.choicepaintballguns.com/page/paintballextrasblog about the Alternate Players. This is great information and something we’ve had to learn over and over again when our team showed up ‘un-prepared’ to a meet one time. If you play on a competitive team, read this blog!

The ‘quick release mount’ makes switching scopes/taking it off of your paintball gun in the middle of battle a breeze. You can get one of these at http://www.choicepaintballguns.com… http://www.choicepaintballguns.com/product/MARFQ . But we also like to practice changing equipment in a pinch when we train. It’s a good drill and smart to be ready for a problem under heat.

We like to also practice speed drills and agility drills to be quick with lateral movements. We practice drills with running, sliding and/or jumping and rolling; we practice drills of sprinting and hiding behind bunkers as quickly as possible and time ourselves doing it to see who is the fastest. We also get all our equipment from http://www.choicepaintballguns.com.

NCStar must be the top company for paintball scopes, sights, mounts, bipods and binoculars; I see their stuff everywhere and even have a few for my guns. It’s top quality stuff; great optics, well put together and sturdy for the worst beating. Check out a nice selection of their stuff here… http://www.choicepaintballguns.com/page/ncstar

Thumbs up to the K-Series Tactical paintball marker! http://www.choicepaintballguns.com/product/MA-PB6 That thing looks absolutely awesome. I like the clear/smoke/see-through magazine, but it looks like you’re also offering a weird kind of holographic red-dot scope that looks really cool also.

Isn’t the idea behind the ‘fluting’ so that the paintball will ‘push’ air in front of it out the tiny holes in the barrel (this is the ‘fluting’) and cut down on air drag/friction for a better shot. Less air drag = better velocity of the ball coming out = shooting farther and more accurate… right? Check out this barrel… http://www.choicepaintballguns.com/product/RAPFLUTE

So they’ve come out with a new 22 inch barrel… http://www.choicepaintballguns.com/product/RAPFLUTE ; this one looks like it actually is 22 inches long. All the others out there are 19 inches with a 3 inch muzzle brake. It also looks like it’s fluted so maybe it works better than the others….
